David Gibson has engineered and produced albums in a wide range of styles of music - acoustic rock, jazz, rock, new age, heavy metal, rap, hip-hop, and electronica. Maestro Curtis and David Gibson have done an outstanding job!This book is a great step-by-step guide on how to produce record. The other books on the market don't go into as much detail and aren't as practical as, The Art of Producing. As an artist, I personally favor the section in the book called, "Composition of the Elements", it opened my mind to utilize everything around me as inspiration to use in the dynamics of my singing, colors in my compositions, and overall creativity when writing music. Love the book. Love. Love. Love.Fellow readers, musicians, artists, music enthusiasts, Enjoy!

This book was required for my record production class. While it spent a lot of time on the basics and had some outdated information (as most all books concerning technology do) in it, it was generally helpful and informative in my journey to understanding the roles of a producer.
